I don't believe architecture has to fit the crude categories used to describe it over the past few decades. I do not align myself with schools of thought or movements; I have no regard for theoretical declarations, discourse or empty polemics. A criticism based on experience and analysis of the actual architecture in its precise setting, seems absolutely necessary at a time when architecture is once again, getting buried under theoretical smoke screens.
I see a building as a field of interlocking spaces in which different human activities take place, and in which the surroundings; whether rural, urban or natural - are intensified.
I invent nothing. I work with models which I continually transform as a response to problems encountered and I am curious about the effects of juxtaposing different elements like construction systems and natural systems.
I believe architecture has an emotional aspect, and this aspect too, is very important to me. If my architecture is simple at times, with few decorative constructional elements or details, it is still important to find the means for arousing emotions. At my house, you can be sitting in the living room and forget you are indoors; greenery, wide views and trees in the front, coupled with minimal architecture. Architecture is not an untouchable work of art; it is an art which integrates human life as an integral part of the creation.
